Mike found the Beauty Creek campground just before we got back on Hwy 90. There weren't any RV sites left, the owner’s son found a place for us to pull off their little road and it worked fine (except that Mandy and Sandy had to climb over a rock to leave their RV). We had a pretty view of a meadow and the forested hill beyond the “river” (no water at this time of year). The pictures show the family looking for Mike (the white dot on the hill) who had followed the trail up. We had a proper campfire, complete with guitar music (courtesy of Caleb and Mandy), grilled cheese sandwiches cooked over the fire by Angie, and roasted marshmallows for desert.
In August 2011 Sandy (finally) used her RV and joined Mike's family (in a rented RV) for a trip north through Oregon, Washington, Idaho to Canada. Our initial goal was to spend time at Lake Louise and Banff, but we never got that far and saw southern British Columbia and the Olympic Peninsula in Washington instead. A wonderful trip!

Beauty Creek
Sandy wanted to see the far end of Coeur d'Alene Lake so we headed south, but the road was so narrow and winding that even the beautiful views of the lake and mountains weren’t enough. So, we turned around with the intention of returning to Coeur d’Alene.
