In August 2011 Sandy (finally) used her RV and joined Mike's family (in a rented RV) for a trip north through Oregon, Washington, Idaho to Canada. Our initial goal was to spend time at Lake Louise and Banff, but we never got that far and saw southern British Columbia and the Olympic Peninsula in Washington instead. A wonderful trip!

Pend Oreille Valley
The road north through the Idaho panhandle panhandle and then back into NE Washington traveled through beautiful country - - forested mountains, broad grassy valleys with a beautiful river (we followed the Pend Oreille River on Hwy 20 from Newport to the Box Canyon Dam where we stopped for lunch). The little lake near the dam was surrounded by grass and very nice, but the mosquitoes were out in force so we ate and ran. The boys had great fun playing with the water fountain that had a reach of more than 20 ft’.
